The detail
A slender, whippet-shaped cat with a coat of tight, marcel waves, first found in Cornwall in 1950. The Cornish Rex is fast, playful and people-focused, and its thin coat means it feels the cold and loves a warm lap.
- Temperament
- Playful, clingy, bold
- Best fit
- Active, warm homes
- Energy
- 5 out of 5 (Sprinter and jumper)
- Grooming load
- 2 out of 5 (Soft cloth, ear cleaning)
What to weigh
A Cornish Rex needs warmth, company and play. The fine coat can’t take hard brushing, and oily skin sometimes needs a bath.
