The detail
The severe, or chestnut-fronted, macaw is a mini macaw from northern South America, roughly the size of a large conure. It is bold, playful and loud, a good fit for keepers who want a macaw personality in less space.
What to weigh
A severe macaw is loud, can be nippy, and lives for decades. It needs plenty of chewing and foraging to stay out of trouble.
