The detail

LaManchas were developed in Oregon in the 1930s and are known for tiny "gopher" or "elf" ears. They are calm, sturdy dairy goats with good milk and butterfat, and many breeders call them the easiest dairy breed to live with.

Origin
Oregon, US
Best fit
Home dairy, first goats
Temperament
Calm, gentle

What to weigh

The tiny ears make tattooing harder; registered LaManchas are tattooed in the tail web instead. Some buyers simply do not like the look.
