The detail
The Bloodhound is the premier scent tracker, bred for centuries to follow a trail for miles and still used to find missing people. Gentle and affectionate, it is also huge, slobbery, stubborn and completely ruled by its nose.
- Best fit
- Patient owners with space
- Temperament
- Gentle, patient, determined
What to weigh
Bloodhounds drool heavily, bay loudly and follow a scent over any obstacle. They mature slowly, need secure fencing and have a high risk of bloat.
