How long do Arowana freshwater fish live?

The detail

Arowanas are large, surface-dwelling predatory fish, and the silver arowana from the Amazon is the one most often kept. They can reach three feet or more and need a very large, securely covered tank because they are powerful jumpers.

What to weigh

Arowanas need huge tanks and tight lids, and they eat smaller fish. Asian arowanas are CITES Appendix I and illegal to import into the US.
