The detail
The Indian ringneck is a long-tailed parakeet from South Asia, bred in many colors and known for clear speech. They are independent and go through a nippy 'bluffing' stage in adolescence that rewards patient, consistent handling.

- Wide cage for the long tail
What to weigh
Ringnecks can revert to being hands-off if not handled regularly, and they are loud. The bluffing phase can make a tame youngster seem suddenly unfriendly for weeks.
