The detail
An ancient desert breed from Turkmenistan, bred for speed and endurance and famous for a metallic sheen on its coat. Akhal-Tekes are lean, athletic and tend to bond closely with one person.
What to weigh
Akhal-Tekes are sensitive, often one-person horses and need experienced handling. The breed is rare, so finding matched vets, trainers and bloodlines takes work.
