The detail
An ancient Chinese companion breed later favored by European royalty, the Pug is charming, affectionate and content with modest exercise. Its flat face brings breathing, eye and heat problems that owners must manage for life.
What to weigh
Pugs struggle in heat, snore and are prone to eye injuries and breathing problems. They shed more than their short coat suggests and gain weight easily, which worsens everything.
