The detail
A French draft horse from the Perche region, usually grey or black, with clean legs and an elegant build for its size. Percherons are willing, intelligent and versatile, and popular for driving and draft crosses.
What to weigh
Percherons are prone to PSSM1, which needs a low-starch diet and regular work. Grey horses carry a high lifetime melanoma risk.
