The detail
Nerite snails are small, patterned snails from coastal and estuary waters that eat algae tirelessly. They are popular because they will not overrun a freshwater tank: their eggs do not hatch without brackish water.

- 5+ gal, lid
- Tank size
- 1 out of 5 (Small tank is fine)
What to weigh
Nerites lay small white eggs on surfaces that do not hatch in freshwater but can be hard to remove. They can climb out of uncovered tanks.
