Bred in Germany as a small farm ratter, the Miniature Schnauzer is alert, spirited and more biddable than most terriers. It sheds little, adapts to apartments and families, and makes a keen watchdog with a voice to match.
What to weigh
Mini Schnauzers bark at everything and need regular professional grooming. They are prone to pancreatitis and high blood fats, so a low-fat diet and no table scraps matter.
