The detail
The normal grey cockatiel is the wild-type color of Australia's small crested parrot, and the most common pet bird after budgies. It is gentle, affectionate and easy to tame, which is why it is often recommended as a first parrot.
- Housing
- Medium cage, daily time out
What to weigh
Cockatiels are dusty and can live 20 years or more. A lone bird needs daily time with its people, and some are prone to night frights.
