The detail
A compact French bird dog bred to find and point upland game over long distances, so it combines a small frame with a very big engine. Happy, sensitive and quick to learn, it is best for owners who run, hike or hunt, not for quiet homes.
What to weigh
A Brittany's energy is relentless, and without daily running it gets restless and vocal. It is also soft-natured, so harsh training backfires, and a strong bird instinct means recall takes real work.
