The detail
The British Shorthair’s calm, sturdy temperament in a semi-long, plush coat. British Longhairs are quiet, independent companions, content alone for a working day, but their coat needs more attention than the shorthair’s.
What to weigh
The dense coat mats without regular combing, and the breed gains weight easily. Persian outcrosses in its history bring kidney disease risk.
