The detail
A pointed, semi-longhaired cat with blue eyes and white paws, developed in France from cats said to come from Burma. Birmans are gentle, quietly social and easygoing, and their silky coat mats less than it looks.
What to weigh
A Birman dislikes long spells alone and can be quietly unhappy without company. A narrow gene pool means asking about kidney health and parents’ history matters.
