The detail
The normal, or wild-type, ball python is the base of the whole morph hobby: a small, docile python from West and Central Africa that curls into a ball when nervous. It is the calm entry to snake keeping, with the same care as any designer morph.

- 4×2×2 ft enclosure
What to weigh
A 20-to-30-year commitment that eats whole prey and may fast for months without being sick. Heat and humidity must be right before the snake arrives, not after.
