The detail
Narragansett turkeys come from Rhode Island and are a heritage breed with black, grey, tan and white feathers. They are calm and good mothers, and are kept for meat on small farms.
What to weigh
Narragansetts are rare, so breeding stock can be related. They grow slower than commercial birds.
