The detail

Limousin come from central France and are bred for lean, heavily muscled carcasses. They add yield and muscle to crossbred calves, and the breed association has selected hard for docility in recent decades.

What to weigh

Older Limousin lines earned a reputation for being high-strung. Pick animals with a strong docility EPD and meet the cow herd before buying.
