The detail
Cornish Cross chickens are a commercial meat hybrid of Cornish and White Rock lines, bred for very fast growth. They reach market weight in six to eight weeks, which makes them the standard for backyard meat birds.
What to weigh
Cornish Cross grow so fast that legs and hearts fail if they are kept long or overfed. Plan to process them on schedule.
