The detail
Clownfish are small anemonefish from Indo-Pacific reefs, and captive-bred ocellaris and percula clowns are the classic first saltwater fish. They are hardy and personable, and they do not need an anemone to thrive.
- Housing
- 20+ gal reef or fish-only
- Tank size
- 2 out of 5 (Small tank is fine)
What to weigh
Clownfish can be territorial as adults, and a pair may chase other fish. Saltwater still needs more testing than freshwater.
