The detail
Broad Breasted turkeys are commercial hybrids bred for very fast growth and heavy breast meat. They reach market weight in about four to five months, but cannot mate naturally and are not suited to long lives.
What to weigh
Broad Breasted turkeys grow so fast that legs and hearts fail if they are kept too long. They cannot mate naturally.
