The detail
Barbados Blackbelly sheep come from the Caribbean and are a hair breed with a tan coat and black belly and legs. They are hardy, heat tolerant and prolific, often lambing twins or triplets.
What to weigh
Blackbellies are flighty and can be hard to handle without good pens. They are smaller and lighter-muscled than meat breeds.
