The detail
Australorps were developed in Australia in the early 1900s from English Orpingtons, bred for egg laying. Black Australorps are calm, hardy and very productive, and a hen once famously laid 364 eggs in 365 days.
What to weigh
Black feathers absorb heat, so they need shade in summer. They can go broody.
