The detail

Corriente are small, athletic cattle descended from Spanish criollo stock in Mexico. They are bred for rodeo and ranch roping, with horns that stay the right shape for a rope and the stamina to be run repeatedly.

What to weigh

They are small and lean, so they bring little at a sale barn as beef. Roping cattle need good pens, horn wraps and rest between sessions.
