Moose (JC Magical Mousse) is a young OTTB gelding with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This handsome bay greets you at the gate like he’s been waiting all day just for you. He’s a true gentleman to lead and groom, and he brings a goofy, lovable presence to the ranch that makes him a joy to have around.Moose was previously a lesson horse at a hunter jumper barn and then purchased as a show horse for a teenager. The family that purchased him found out he was not sound when ridden and was not able to find the source of his discomfort. He was reported to be explosive under saddle by his previous owner. He also showed signs of lameness during his evaluation stages with our trainer. Moose was seen by a vet and was first diagnosed with kissing spine. Then, after an ultrasound was taken of his fetlocks, a fragment was found floating in one of his median sesamoidean ligaments, causing the pain when being ridden. Our vet was confident that Moose could live comfortably with both diagnoses as a pasture pet.
