About Me: Name: Waverly Breed (or best guess): Poodle or Doodle Approximate Age: 6 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 25 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Patient family, fenced yard preferred Why In Rescue: puppy mill survivor Profile: Foster Update - Waverly has been in a foster home learning to walk on a leash and doing great with her house/potty training. Her foster says she is super sweet and very smart! Waverly came from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was no longer going to use her for breeding. She is a little shy but okay with being handled. She needs work on walking on a leash, so needs a fenced yard for her safety . She gets along with other dogs, but will likely do fine as an only dog as well. If you have the patience to help her learn about living the good life as a loved pet, she may be the perfect girl for you! Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house. They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are. They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people…
