From Ventura County Animal Regulation

Meet Smokey!Smokey is described as an affectionate, active pup who loves walks, playtime, fetch, tug toys, car rides, and spending time with his people. He’s crate trained, reportedly housetrained/pee-pad trained, and already knows several cues including sit, stay, and come.According to his former owners, Smokey can be shy with new people and may need a little time and space to feel comfortable. Once he settles in, his former family describes him as attentive, playful, energetic, and affectionate. Smokey has lived around other dogs, but his interactions with them were fairly limited. He also enjoys chasing birds and squirrels, so his new family should be prepared to manage that enthusiasm outdoors. Our favorite thing from Smokey’s profile? When his former owner was asked to name three things they liked least about him, they wrote, “I don’t have 3 things I least like about him.” If you’re looking for an energetic companion, come meet Smokey! Update 9/13: This dog has been added to our Call-to-Action List because volunteers and staff have been unable to get him out of his kennel since his arrival two weeks ago. We are urgently looking for an adopter, foster, or rescue to…
