No dog should ever have to live this way.Smokey has spent far too long surviving on the streets, where he was met with unimaginable cruelty instead of kindness. People beat him with bats and chains, yet somehow this beautiful boy still chooses to trust. He is gentle. He is loving. He is ready to leave his painful past behind. All Smokey needs is one person to say, "You're safe now."Please, if you can foster or adopt in San Diego, you could be the reason this sweet soul never has to suffer again. If you can't open your home, please share his story. His life truly depends on it.

In the rescue's own words, as they published it.

How adopting Smokey works

Recate Fenix aka Rescue Fenix decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
