Scout Young • Friendly • Learning Fast Scout is an approximately 6–7-month-old, tri-colored, smooth-coated male. He was purchased for $800 and later surrendered to a kill shelter by his owner. Despite this rough start, Scout is already showing how bright, social, resilient, and eager he is. Personality & Temperament Scout has a soft temperament, loves people, and warms up quickly. He is curious, affectionate, and clearly wants to bond. Around other dogs, he is still decompressing and making steady progress. He enjoys pretending they are sheep and may try to herd them, but daily daycare is helping him learn to play rather than simply herd. He has been indifferent toward cats. Learning & Progress Learned to sit in his first puppy class and is continuing puppy-class work Started working on recall Is learning to walk on a leash, which is new to him Became comfortable enough to potty while on leash after settling in Is doing well in his crate Rides well in the car and is beginning to jump in on his own instead of needing to be lifted Scout is the kind of dog who will take off once he feels secure—smart, willing, and ready to learn.
