Update 9/14: While Rumi has been quite friendly at the shelter, he has struggled with meeting or encountering new people in several adoptive homes. He would love a home with someone who can offer support or advocate for Rumi's space when needed. If you are interested in Rumi, feel free to email us for more behavior information at [email protected] or just come meet him at the shelter!Rumi has been an absolute gentleman at the vet, has met other dogs successfully, and is so much fun! This is what one of our veterinarians had to say about him: `Rumi is a sweet, affectionate boy who enjoys spending time with his people. He happily leans in for pets, takes treats gently, and has done well with handling and grooming. He also enjoys running around the yard and has done well playing with other social, energetic dogs. Like many young dogs, Rumi is still working on his manners. He can be enthusiastic on leash and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement training to help him develop good leash skills and basic cues. His previous owner also reported that he escaped through open doors on several occasions, so he'll need a home that is mindful about keeping doors and gates…
