From Golden Gate Basset Rescue

Three-year-old Roxy came into GGBR with her brother Duke. They are very much a bonded pair and need to stay together. Roxy is a little more outgoing than her brother and Duke relies on her especially as a source of comfort. Roxy seems to have had a rough start in life, which may be why she is nervous around new places and people at first but, given a little time and patience, Roxy adjusts very well. Once she feels comfortable with you, she loves to cuddle and sleep right next to you. She also loves to play with other dogs once she feels comfortable with them. She does love to use her voice and can be quite vocal at times. She is well house trained and uses a doggy door. She is also crate trained and does well in the car. Roxy does have some food guarding tendencies. They are not severe, however, and she does not display them around her brother, only other dogs. Roxy would love a mom or dad who is patient and gentle, as she can be a little unsure of herself at times but really wants to please.
