From San Jose Animal Care Center

05/24/24 05:32DOG DAY OUT REPORT Today I: met a new friend who took me out for a long walk. To get there though we had to ride in a car, which was quite scary! My new friend had to help me in, and I was happy to get out when we got to the park. Once we got walking, I saw lots of bikes which at first were a bit spooky but then I got used to them. I also saw lots of other dogs; I was curious and wanted to say hi. I wanted to chase the squirrels, bunnies, and birds we saw but my new friend wouldn’t let me (I knew not to mess with the geese though). Three Words to Describe Me are: reserved, gentle, inquisitive Notes from My Walker: Rae is a reserved boy; I think he is pretty stressed and would benefit from more time out. He is quite scared of the car – despite lots of treats and encouragement he did need to be picked up. He does fine while driving but definitely wants out once you get where you’re going. He was a bit nervous on the trail, checked behind us a lot and did start a bit at loud noises or unexpected objects (ex. a shopping cart). After walking for awhile he did start to relax. He is interested in other dogs and people and would like to approach but does not…

How adopting RAE works

San Jose Animal Care Center decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
