Hi there! My name is Paper, and I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, you're the person I've been waiting for. I've been living at Central Arizona Animal Rescue for more than three and a half years. That's a long time for any dog to wait for a family. While I've made lots of friends here and everyone takes great care of me, what I really want is a place to call my own and people to love for the rest of my life. My story didn't start out easy. I came from a hoarding situation where over 140 dogs were living together outside. Because of that, I never got the chance to experience what most dogs do growing up. I didn't have a cozy couch, a backyard of my own, or a family to spoil me. But here's the amazing thing: despite my rough beginning, I absolutely love people. In fact, I think strangers are just friends I haven't met yet! Everyone here says I'm one of the sweetest dogs they've ever met. I don't look for trouble, and I definitely don't look for conflict. If another dog wants the best spot to lay down or the biggest treat, that's okay with me. I'd rather keep the peace and make friends. That's probably why I've become the rescue's go-to companion dog.
