From Yolo County Animal Services Shelter

Miata is a 2-year-old, 45-pound Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix who has shown us that sometimes a shelter kennel simply doesn't tell the whole story. When Miata first arrived, she seemed like a shy, uncertain girl. The noise and activity of the shelter were overwhelming for her, and she often looked to people for reassurance. But get this little Miata out of the shelter and onto the open road, and suddenly she shifts into a whole different gear!On a recent day trip, Miata blossomed into a sweet, affectionate, happy girl who greeted everyone she met with wiggles, tail wags, and the occasional enthusiastic jump. Apparently, once she feels comfortable, this Miata comes fully loaded with affection. She definitely knows how to have fun. Fetch is her thing! She loves chasing the ball and will occasionally play with other toys too. As a young Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, she'll likely do best with a family ready to provide regular exercise, playtime, adventures, and mental stimulation. This is one Miata that was definitely built to move! She is wonderfully easy to walk on leash and was neutral toward the dogs she encountered while out and about, including dogs seen on leash…
