MAYA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Maya and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (9/6) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)! Name: Maya Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/Beagle mix Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of July 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 46 lbs as of June 2026; she needs to lose a few! Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Because Maya is shy, she needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes. Maya is Looking For: Maya wants nothing more than to trot through life with all the confidence of a well-loved dog! Sniffy walks, romps in parks, world exploration - yes, please! To get there, she needs extra loving and patient adopters who understand she is shy in new environments - and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog. Most of all, she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved for all her days. In exchange, she promises loyal companionship. What do you say? Can you…

How adopting Maya works

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
