Hi, I'm Lumen! I've had a rough life, but thankfully these nice people rescued me. The first time I was here a few years ago I came from a big rescue with several other dogs. I was covered in mange and therefore why I have some bald patches and scarring on my face and body.Through no fault of my own I'm back at the shelter again, but I haven't let that dim my spirit at all! I'm a sweet girl and love to play! I've got a goofy personality and need to be your one and only pet. I seem to be potty-trained and walking on a leash is super easy for me. Can you look past my different features and love me for my amazing soul? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit…

How adopting Lumen works

Polk County Humane Society decides every adoption: its application, its fee, its home check and its timing. Everybarn only shows this animal on the rescue's behalf, takes no payment and passes no messages.
