Say hello to Kahlua! Kahlua just turned one year old in October 2024. He has been through a lot in his little life. He, along with four other dogs, were abandoned in a kennel in a parking lot late at night. All five dogs have made progress with their people socialization, to varying degrees. We feel Kahlua is finally ready to start the search for his forever home, provided they are patient and loving, and willing to give him the time he needs to fully blossom. Kahlua will bark and avoid when first meeting you. If you reach for him too fast, he will nip. Because of this, we feel he needs to go to an adult-only home. We have noticed he tends to bond more with females than males. At rescue, Kahlua will zoom up to those he knows and trusts, seeking out attention and pets, and giving a quick kiss lick on the cheek before zooming off. He is social with the other dogs, and loves to run and play, and explore the play yard. Kahlua did spend about a week in foster, but didn't warm up to the male in the home.
