At approximately 3 years old and weighing just 12 pounds, Jemma is the perfect little companion with a heart that's learning to trust again. We believe she's a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, though that's just our best guess. Jemma came to us from a small rural Missouri shelter, and when she first arrived in her foster home, it was clear life had been overwhelming for her. She was so frightened that even gentle pets on her head made her flinch. But thanks to patience, love, and a safe place to land, Jemma has blossomed into an entirely different dog. Today, she's affectionate, playful, and loves being with her people. She's fully housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained, making her an easy companion to have around the house. Jemma already knows sit and stay, and she's almost mastered shake—she's a smart little girl who truly enjoys learning and wants to please.
