Meet Harley f.n.a Harlow! This sweet Beagle girl was found as a pregnant stray in rural South Carolina and gave birth to her puppies in a local shelter. Thanks to one of our rescue partners, Harlow and her babies were taken in and given a second chance. Her puppies all found rescue, and this sweet mama girl came into our care. Now it's Harlow's turn to find her forever home. Harley quickly settled into her new pack, living with a foster mom and dad, four dogs, and a 1-year-old toddler. Like many rescue dogs, she needed a little time to build confidence, trust her people, and learn the rules of home life—but she made progress every day. After making the trip to Northern Virginia in late August, Harley is now being fostered in Stafford with a mom, dad, 5-year-old, and another dog. And we’re happy to report that this sweet girl is 100% kid- and dog-tested! Harley has a "live and let live" personality and has integrated easily with the other dogs. While she enjoys their company and often chooses to nap beside them, she's independent enough to thrive as an only dog, too.
