Our little burrito is officially on a weight-loss journey! After working with our veterinary team, we discovered that Gordita has a thyroid condition that was contributing to her weight and overall health.Gordita will need daily medication for the rest of her life, but thankfully, hypothyroidism is very manageable with proper treatment and monitoring. Her medication replaces the thyroid hormone her body isn’t producing enough of, and we’re already seeing improvements in her overall health and wellbeing. Gordita and her housemates came into rescue after their devoted owner passed away suddenly while at work one day. Their whole world changed in an instant, and now we’re making sure each of them gets the care they need as they begin their next chapter. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)
