Animal Information: Ella is an estimated 2 year old 70 lb spayed female shepherd mix who was adopted as a puppy from the shelter and returned when the family came upon hard times. The shelter is overflowing with large mixed breed dogs, and Ella was at risk for euthanasia due to length of stay. She's a staff favorite and they pushed hard for us to say yes to one more big shepherd mix, because she's such a friendly, outgoing, social and affectionate dog -- but they are just at max capacity. Shelter staff reports Ella is good with other dogs, good on the leash, great with all people, and even rides nicely in the car. Foster Profile: Ella is the full package. She is smart, beautiful, athletic, and always up for anything. As a working breed dog, she needs more than a short walk and a snuffle mat to be happy. She is looking for someone who understands that and wants a dog that isn't just a couch potato. Ella is currently in foster care at our Community Center, where she has become a staff and volunteer favorite. She is quick to learn, easy to train, and always ready to play.
