Cocoa is a 1-2 year-old, 45lb sweetheart who came to Minnesota from Mexico, where she was found as a puppy with rickets due to malnutrition. She’s since made a full recovery with no lasting effects and is ready for her forever home! Cocoa can be shy and unsure at first, but once she gets to know you, her tail starts wagging and her gentle personality shines through. We have come to the conclusion that Cocoa needs to have another dog in the home to thrive. So we are looking for a home for her with another doggy friend for her. Having another dog really helps her confidence—she follows their lead and becomes a much more relaxed, happy pup. She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys playing with other dogs - she's a sweetheart with everyone she's met! Cocoa still has some puppy energy (a little jumping here and there!) and is doing well in her kennel. She’d thrive in a patient home, ideally with a canine buddy, where she can continue to build confidence and feel safe. Cocoa keeps a tidy kennel, is doing great on potty training, and is learning that walking on a leash to go for adventures is fun.
