From San Antonio Animal Care Services

From Callie's foster: Some dogs arrive with a story. Hers is written on her body.At just six years old, she carries the signs of a life that wasn't always easy. She came to ACS wearing a collar, but without a microchip and never having been spayed. Her worn little body suggests she likely raised puppies at some point. She has old hairless patches on her nose and tail, and the kind of quiet, patient expression that makes you wonder what she's seen.We don't know exactly where she's been or why no one came looking for her. Whatever happened before she found us, it wasn't enough to take away her gentle spirit. She greets people with kindness. She trusts. She wants to be close. She asks for very little and is grateful for every bit of affection she receives. She isn't the flashy puppy with perfect markings or a youthful energy. She's the dog for someone who understands that beauty isn't always found in appearances. Sometimes it's found in resilience, in gentleness, and in a heart that somehow stayed open despite life's disappointments. If you've ever believed that every dog deserves one chapter in life where they are treasured, safe, and deeply loved, we'd love for you to meet her.
