Hi friends… my name is Bender, and I’m a little 9-pound, one-year-old boy who has already lived through more than most puppies ever should. I was found all alone and lost in Durham. Kind strangers finally caught me with the help of some pork chops (true story!). When I arrived at my foster home via the shelter ( super scary) I was a terrified, trembling little boy covered in fleas and flea bites. I didn’t know if anyone would ever be gentle with me again. But something beautiful happened at my foster: the scared, itchy pup began to bloom. I learned that hands can be soft. That voices can be kind. That a crate can feel like a safe little den instead of a cage. Now I’m the happiest boy you could imagine — full of fun, I love to collect toys in my bed and chase balls and completely in love with having my head gently petted. Right now I live with several elderly Chihuahuas, so my playful heart is just aching for a friend my own size to play with. All I truly want is a quiet home, someone to love me, and a buddy to play with. I’m fully vetted — neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, and heartworm-negative.
