BARNEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Barney Best Guess for Breed: Jack Russell terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of August 2026 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 11 lbs Gets Along With: Barney does well with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog. We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster homeSpecial adoption considerations: Barney was rescued from a hoarding situation in South Carolina. He has not been well socialized with new people and has lived his whole life with other dogs. New nosies, cars, bikes, and other things may create fear and anxiety. He will need a patient adopter who can give him time to come out of his shell and learn that the world is a wonderful and welcoming place. And because he is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes.Barney is Looking For: His forever home, filled with snuggles and opportunities to see the world! One where he is a cherished part of a family. He's very sweet, and SO ready to be a Real Dog.Extra patient and loving humans who introduce him…
