Meet Augusta! A striking five-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix currently in Indianapolis, IN, whose intelligence and devotion make her a loyal companion ready for a new best friend. Weighing 62 pounds, she is strong, sturdy, and full of energy. With her beautiful tricolor coat and deep brown eyes, Augusta is a head-turner with a happy, boundless personality! Augusta is a training graduate who has mastered several commands. She heels nicely on a leash alongside her person and is crate-trained, happily settling into her cozy retreat when asked. She thrives on consistency and enjoys focusing on her handler, making her an excellent partner for someone who can guide her using basic commands. Her love for people shines in her desire for snuggles and companionship. She is incredibly smart and can quickly pick up on cues, especially when treats are involved! She has made great strides in training and has the capacity to learn even more. When she was first found, Augusta was unsure of the world and often stepped into the role of protector, which sometimes made her defensive. In one instance, when she felt uncertain, she reacted by nipping…
