About Me: Name: Ash Breed (or best guess): Poodle Approximate Age: 4 years Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 10 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: patient family, another small dog and fenced potty area Why In Rescue: puppy mill survivor Profile: Ash came from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was no longer going to use him for breeding. He came to us very scared but he is starting to open up and is learning how to play and be a dog. He is starting to trust humans, but we haven't worked on leash walking yet. He can learn to be a loving pet, but it will take time and patience. If interested in him, please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website. Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house. They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are. They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people. Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step. Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty…
