Meet Artie, a handsome 2-year-old American Staffordshire mix with a big heart and an even bigger desire to learn. At 60 pounds, he's the perfect medium-sized companion who is discovering just how wonderful life can be.Artie is the kind of dog who thrives with routine, encouragement, and tasty treats. He's incredibly food motivated, already knows "sit" and "shake," and is eagerly learning new skills every day. Instead of marathon walks, he'd much rather spend time solving a food puzzle, working on a Kong, or happily chewing on a Nylabone. Give him an oversized stick in the yard and he'll proudly parade it around before settling in for a good chew. One of Artie's sweetest qualities is how much he loves people. He happily greets visitors and enjoys meeting new friends on walks. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side shines through, complete with belly rub requests and a habit of resting his chin on his canine friend's back like the world's cutest pillow.Artie came into rescue without much early socialization, so he's still figuring out how to be a dog. He's curious about other dogs and has been making wonderful progress with his social skills. Recently, he had a play date…
