Maybe You Can Be the Happy Ending to a Sad Story We are looking for loving homes for several puppies who have had a very difficult start in life. Here is their story. A friend of ours who runs a pet transportation business called Pets to Vets was contacted to transport some dogs to a boarding kennel. When she arrived, she discovered that the seven dogs belonged to a homeless individual living in a van who needed to be hospitalized for several days. Since the dogs could not remain at the hospital, arrangements were made to board them temporarily. The situation she found was heartbreaking. Five puppies were confined to a kennel measuring approximately three feet by five feet, surrounded by filth and urine. The two older dogs, believed to be the puppies' parents, were living in the front of the van. All of the dogs were dirty, severely underweight, suffering from mange, and had received no veterinary care. So Pets to Vets transported them to a boarding facility, where a veterinarian examined them, treated them for mange, and administered their first round of vaccinations. A few days later, the owner went to the boarding facility and claimed only the mother dog, leaving the remaining…
