Meet Veruca! A thoughtful fourteen-year-old Domestic Short Hair currently in Austin, TX, whose essence is a gentle blend of quiet curiosity and hidden affection wrapped in a beautiful grey and tan tabby coat with charming white accents. Veruca is the kind of cat who believes every friendship is worth building carefully. She is a shy, reserved girl with a soft, scratchy voice, and she appreciates a caregiver who understands that trust is something special that grows one peaceful moment at a time. At first, Veruca may watch from a comfortable distance, studying her surroundings and deciding when she is ready to say hello. She wants to make friends, but she prefers to set the pace. If someone rushes her introductions, she may respond with a quick swat to ask for more space. Because of this, she would do well with an experienced cat person who values patience, understanding, and gentle interactions. The wonderful thing about Veruca is what happens once that trust begins to bloom. As her confidence grows, her affectionate side emerges beautifully! She enjoys spending time near her favorite people and may even surprise you by curling up in your lap. She is comfortable being picked up…
